Part-time Project Coordinator-Non-Profit Organization

Are you high-energy, organized, motivated, detail-oriented and a self starter with an interest in gardening? Then do not miss this opportunity to join two non-profit organizations that are run by a small, efficient staff in the western suburbs. We are currently seeking a part-time Project Coordinator to coordinate several important programs. The ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours. Your friendliness, professionalism, initiative and efficiency will be welcomed in our office.

Job Description/Summary:

As Project Coordinator, organize and execute multiple programs we run for our organizations.
Serve as the point person for incoming calls, organize office operations and procedures, coordinate with IT consultant, manage vendor relationships.
Provide general support to Executive Director as needed.

Working hours: TBD approx. 15-20 hours per week

Your role will include providing a full range of coordinating projects including, but not limited to:
• Day-to-day coordination of six major programs
• Create and track office supply inventories and purchases new supplies as needed.
• Maintains office equipment, troubleshoots problems and arranges repairs.
• Provides administrative support to the Executive Director
• Other adhoc duties as requested.

Job Requirements
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Basic understanding of database structure and functions
• Able to greet callers and answer questions quickly and efficiently
• Provide general administrative and clerical support
• Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
• Interest in or experience in gardening/horticulture a plus

Required Experience: Two or more years of experience working in a front desk, office assistant or coordinator role . Desire to provide excellent support and structure to Executive Director. Superior verbal skills with the ability to communicate with other employees, members and the general public. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and to re-prioritize quickly and smoothly. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Solid work ethic, integrity, enthusiasm and high energy.
