Location: Tuscaloosa Alabama

The Product Specification Technician in the Design Fabrics Product Line will create and maintain data in the specification database to ensure accurate and consistent product specifications for the textile division. Management may assign additional duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Will create specs for new materials including component settings, bill of material components and quantities, special instructions, and all other information required to produce a consistent, quality product.

2. Will update specs to reflect processing changes, improvements, inconsistency corrections, and as requested to support Designed Fabrics production.

3. Will work with product lines, R&D and Sample Production, support personnel, and any others to ensure the specification system data is meaningful, accurate, and consistent with operation needs.

4. Will communicate regularly with Product Line Management and the SAP master data personnel so they are aware of all process and spec changes and work with them to ensure there are no inconsistencies between the spec system and SAP data.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Computer Skills - Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Prefer knowledge of SAP & MES applications.

20. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and system development

21. Mathematics - Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their application to system development

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Prefer experience with Extruding, Beaming, Weaving, Tentering, and Grading manufacturing processes

2. Experience with Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

3. Understand the importance and purpose of product specifications

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Prefer a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management experience.

2. Prefer knowledge of current specifications

3. Prefer experience with SAP and/or MES applications
