One of the TOP Audio Visual Companies is looking to add a solid Design Consultant to its Southern California Team.
Title: Systems/Design Design Consultant
Purpose of Position
Design Consultants, provides expert advice and design services in the disciplines of commercial audio visual systems, media distribution, digital asset management, AV networks, acoustical design, and lighting. Design Consultants create audio, video, control, network, lighting, and media rich environments for multiple markets including museums, performing arts facilities, themed entertainment, high-end retail, houses of worship, corporate exhibits, digital signage, cruise ship entertainment, education facilities, control rooms, working environments, and presentation systems in public spaces.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following range of services:
• Project design and engineering activities, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely, efficient manner and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Provide technology evaluations and recommendations.
• Help develop concept, schematic, design development, & bid level system drawings & documents with Design team.
• Manage project schedules and client relations.
• Business Development through new & existing customer relationships.
• Supervise mock ups & technology demonstrations.
• Travel to domestic and international locations.
Skills and Attributes
Applicants should have:
• A good working knowledge of audio-visual technology, show control systems, media networks. Emphasis on Theme Park systems is a plus.
• A working knowledge of IT Networks, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
• A desire to creatively implement technologies into new and existing facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present design ideas to creative clients and high level executives.
• Comfortable with public speaking and giving formal PowerPoint presentations.
• Good organization skills, flexibility, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
• A willingness to be a team player.
• A customer focused approach.
• Computer literacy with fluency in MS Word and MS Excel. Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Publisher, MS Access, and MS Access desirable.
• An engineering degree, theater design degree and/or industry experiences are desirable.
The ideal candidate should have production experience, but this is not essential where design and communication skills are strong. The position could suit an audio-visual project engineer looking to move into a more creative, design & consulting role.
