NPCC Hiring 2 PT positions-Mascot & Guide: North Platte Community College is now accepting applications for a part-time Knight Mascot and a part-time Knight Mascot Guide. Positions can be rotated, so that each position has the opportunity to dress as the mascot, as well as to guide the mascot at NPCC and MPCC Athletic Events, community appearances, and additional events as needed. Pay begins at $ 10.00 an hour, with at least 5 hours per week, but no more than 10 hours each week for a 32 week period (two-16 week semesters.)
About us: Mid-Plains Community College, a legislatively designated 18-county district in West-Central Nebraska, is a comprehensive, open access, public, two-year community college system that offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. MPCC consists of three main campuses, one located in McCook, Nebraska and two located in North Platte, Nebraska. Additionally, there are extended campus sites in Broken Bow, Imperial, Ogallala and Valentine with satellite classrooms located throughout the Area. North Platte Community College is located in North Platte, Nebraska, a city of approximately 24,000 in rural southwestern Nebraska along the I-80 corridor.
Qualifications: Required extensive night and weekend work, If a NPCC student, must be in good academic standing and not subject to any college discipline, per the student handbook. The right candidate will be a motivated individual, with a strong desire to engage and entertain audiences, while enhancing the college experience. The Knight term is for 1 year, July 1-June 30. Candidates may be the Knight Mascot or Knight Guide for more than one year, but may be required to participate in the selection process each year. Candidate must understand that these roles and their related actions represent the college and therefore must adhere to all college rules, regulations, and NJCAA regulations.
