Mechanical Design Engineer at ContractTECH in Cordele, GA

JOB TYPE: Full Time Direct Placement

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this Mechanical Design Engineer position, you will be responsible for creating designs and specifications that meet industry performance standards, supporting all engineering aspects of the product development projects assigned to you. You will be working with very large industrial machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide new product development support
• Provide engineering and design support for new product development projects including;
• Creating and maintaining CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
• Supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)
• Perform stress and fatigue analysis on machine parts
• Interfacing with internal company personnel as needed to resolve requirements, orders, and problems
• Provide technical support for assigned projects.
• Assist in developing new standards, processes, and procedures.
• Ensure product designs are manufacture-able
• Create and maintain BOMs for products
• Acts as a resource to more experienced engineers

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hydraulics design experience is a must

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree

• 5+ year’s mechanical design experience

• 3+ year’s experience using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD design software

• Basic engineering knowledge to improve products or services

PREFERRED (Optional):

• FEA software experience

• AutoCAD experience is a plus
