Meridian Technology Group is looking for a Test Engineer.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
•Masters degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience
•3 to 5 years of applicable experience
•Experience in production and test systems
Hands on test and production facility, factory, or laboratory experience
Mechanical aptitude and experience
•Demonstrated experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical role
•Knowledge and/or experience in aerospace structural or mechanical or propulsion systems assembly and testing
•Ability to utilize test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves
•Ability to solve problems calling for technical analysis
•Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports
•Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics
•Knowledge of hazardous systems- cryogenic, flammable, hypergolic, pyrophoric
•Knowledge of high pressure system design and handling
•Experience using test instrumentation and control components
•Intermediate skill level using Windows Operating Systems
•Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote)
•Novice skill level using CAD modeling (Unigraphics NX preferred) and Teamcenter
•Novice to intermediate skill level using NI Labview
•Novice to intermediate skill level using Matlab
Responsibilities:
•Conduct tests to evaluate hardware performance
•Work with fluid, structural, thermal, and electrical systems- system design, pitfalls, potential hazards, expected operation, etc.
•Develop test procedures based on test requirements
•Operate test console and direct a team of technicians to execute test processes
•Develop, continually review, maintain, and execute test plans
•Work with data acquisition systems and control systems to continually improve in-test data recording
•Analyze and review data to ensure that hardware is operating as expected utilizing numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results
•Create software tools to further enhance post-test data analysis
•Provide reports and document test results
•Support integration of components into test assemblies
•Develop, maintain, and execute integration and testing process, and collaborate with design engineers to improve hardware
•Work to resolve anomalies found during the integration and testing process, and collaborate with design engineers to improve hardware
•Act as a conduit for completing the resource management process, including: planning, parts, coordination, skilled labor coordination, process verification, etc.
•Develop improvements in production and test methods, standards, tooling, equipment layout, procedures, and product designs. Identify continuous improvement opportunities for performance, reliability, and cost.
•Ensure all operations are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner
•Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Basic Qualifications:
•B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or manufacturing engineering
Additional Requirements:
•General physical fitness is required for some work areas, flight hardware is typically built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required
•Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying weight such as materials or equipment
•Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments- heat, cold, rain
•Work performed in an environment required exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
•Typically 50 hour work weeks, schedule varies depending on site operational needs, flexibility required
•Ability to work rotating shifts
•Overtime is frequently required for particular tasks or test series
