This position serves as a professional Administrative Assistant in the Executive Offices of the Department of Correction's Central Office.
Responsibilities:
• Provides routine policy interpretation and related decisions to interested parties
• Acts as liaison between program or department administration and state agencies, news media and interested parties
• Researches and prepares various reports for supervisor and the executive team
• Attends meetings and conferences representing the program or department administrator
• Prepares correspondence and verbal communication with the public or other agency representatives
• Coordinates clerical and administrative functions
• Provides technical guidance and composes manuals for agency personnel;
• Answers correspondence
• Interviews and counsels clerical employees
• Performs related duties as required
Preferred Experience:
Three (3) years work experience performing administrative support; bookkeeping; office management; program support; word processing; or accredited college training in a related field.
