Our Wixom, MI customer is seeking an experienced Service Tech/Equipment Mechanic for direct hire position at $17-$19 per hour, plus applicable travel per diems (see domestic travel bullet point). Working Mon-Fri from 6:00 am 4:30 pm, and then they have to travel about once a quarter for some overnight work which they get paid while they travel including per diems at $50 a day and pay from the time they leave their home until they get to the hotel.
Responsible for debugging problems during start-up and operation, and the repair and maintenance of high-pressure pumps and equipment in our varied product line.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED is required. Prefer vocational/trade school training.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ in the troubleshooting and repair of engines, pumps, and/or heavy equipment
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge and skills while following company procedures to service, repair, and test equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is preferred
• Must have a valid Michigan’s Operator’s License with a good driving record, be insurable, and be able to perform the job
• Candidates with CDL-A Licenses are highly preferred, but if not, must be able to obtain a CDL-A License (company will pay for the training and license).
• Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment physical including drug screen
• Must excel in customer relations
• Must be able to travel domestically (air travel is required), sometimes overtime on short-notice to perform service duties at customer sites 50-70% of the time along with going to company, branch locations. Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime including after-hours and weekends as required. Average length of trip information: 1-2 weeks at most for traveling between branch locations, and no more than 1 week for customer visits/service visits. When traveling domestically given a TOTAL of $50 p/day per diem for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Must stand for the entire shift, be able to climb ladders, be able to lift up to 70 lbs, do frequent reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling and working from the floor underneath units
• Must have steel toed workboots/shoes and safety glasses are required.
• Must have own hand tools
