Our Plymouth, MI customer is seeking 2 experienced Connectivity Research Supervisors (Automotive) for a direct hire position at an open salary range. Relocation is available. Sponsorship is NOT AVAILABLE. Will NOT consider fresh-out graduates, entry-level or candidates with less than 3 years' experience.
Responsibilities:
• Capturing and analyzing market and technology trends in the area of connectivity and telematics systems. Develop the product/platform roadmap to meet the company’s overall strategy (solve the Android auto and Carplay connectivity problems).
• Lead the system development of end to end consumer facing technologies for the North American region
• Research and develop concepts and prototypes for new vehicle connectivity hardware devices. Produce experience storyboards, identify use cases, create proof-of-concept demonstrations and define specifications and requirements.
• Designing and writing software both individually and as part of a team
• Lead technology and feature development projects for internal customers
• Actively ideate and invent new features for the connected vehicle
• Performing competitive analyses and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies in both the automotive and consumer electronics field
• Develop advanced linking technologies on CA-Link to interface with mobile applications
• Support the development and launch of new and enhanced vehicle connected services via mobile phone platforms (i.e. Android/iOS)
• Understanding the needs of the Business development team and the Marketing team. Aggregate these cross functional inputs into a connectivity services product planning process
• Support the connectivity services product development team by running feasibility studies, completing detailed requirement analysis, and specifying functional definitions. Be able to prepare RFI /RFQs
• Build up and implement the best practice on development and process
Requirements
• B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar electronics related field
• 5+ years’ leading projects in the area of wireless connectivity technology. Knowledge of design, structure and operation of automotive connectivity systems
• Experience with a wide range of imperative, object oriented, and scripting programming languages such as C, C#, C++, Java, or PHP
• Experience both with common programming frameworks such as .NET, Android SDK, and/or iOS SDK, but also developing towards proprietary APIs
• Experience with integrated development tools such as Visual Studio and Eclipse
• Experience with GUI, UX and/or interaction development
• The ability to bridge the world of embedded vehicle controls systems with the world of connected services and consumer electronics
• Experience with writing requirements and documenting software architecture, preferably with help of UML
• Knowledge of digital communication and familiarity with the ISO-OSI model and communication technologies such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and CAN
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills.
• A genuine interest in technology, electronics, gadgets and programming, both on a professional and personal level
• Strong communication and team player skills and working with global teams abroad

• Strong knowledge of cloud computing and backend infrastructure systems. Knowledge of Connectivity Communication Protocol: Bluetooth Protocol e.g. A2DP, AVRCP, SPP, HFP. Knowledge of USB Protocol, e.g.; RNDIS, USB Audio, iAP2.
• Bilingual (English & Chinese) is a plus
