Byrnes & Rupkey, Inc. has an opportunity for a Controls Project Engineer in the Indianapolis, IN area. This position is a direct hire for a successful and innovative company.
Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, implementing and documenting process automation and control projects;
• Coordinating the engineering activities of project teams;
• Performing work within budget and schedule parameters;
• Reporting to the Project Manager for workload, schedule, and cost management;
• Working with the customer to establish control strategies and automation details;
• Performing or facilitating on-site startup and training activities;
• Mentoring less experienced coworkers on technical or project execution;
• Providing proactive input and solutions to engineering for continuous improvement of the organization;
• Some travel within a 4-state area may be required.
Education: 4-year degree required; Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related technical disciplines preferred.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience as a plant process and/or controls engineer;
• Chemical, pharmaceutical, foods or other process industry experience preferred;
• Emerson DeltaV systems experience preferred;
• S88 Batch standard and programming;
• Batch Programming;
• Knowledge of validation requirements for control systems in cGMP environments;
• Ability to read and provide input on P&ID drawings, electrical drawings, various process flowcharts, etc.;
• Strong communication skills and ability to work individually or in a team environment.
