Byrnes & Rupkey, Inc. has an opportunity for an Injection Mold Designer in the Evansville, IN area. This position is a direct hire for a successful and innovative company.
Duties include:
• Designing thermoplastic/thermoset injection molds to produce auto parts;
• Providing technical support and training to Tooling Engineers for new mold designs implemented into production;
• Checking the design in regards to side action, ejection, lifter, water line, hot runner, insert, components, press installation, retractors, slides, and/or mold base;
• Assisting Tooling Engineers on design issues for ease of maintenance and workability;
• Providing technical support for continuous improvement of injection mold development;
• Keeps current with the latest design software improvements and upgrades.
EDUCATION: 4-year or 2-year degree required; Tool and Manufacturing Technology or related disciplines preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 2 or more years of plastic injection mold design;
• Manufacturing experience in thermoplastic or thermoset injection mold design;
• Experience using CAD/CAM software to design thermoplastic or thermoset injection molds;
• Skills and knowledge in side action, ejection, lifter, water line, hot runner, insert, mold base, components, press installation, retractors, slides, and/or mold base;
• Automotive industry experience in a JIT manufacturing environment preferred;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
