New position, for a SQL DBA! Direct Hire, excellent work environment, benefits

Please note this position is not a production DBA. We need someone who wants to get involved with developing reporting processes as well as managing the databases.

Position Summary:

Day-to-day management and maintenance of all database management systems and related hardware. Performance tuning, optimizing and scaling of all server instances and databases. Write and optimize T-SQL - queries, views, stored procedures and functions.

Responsibilities:

•Responsible for all functions associated with the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL Server databases including security, back-up, logging, reporting and recovery procedures

•Manage all technical aspects of the databases and processes

•Manage data from multiple sources including internal, external, and 3rd party data

•Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks

•Assist in developing data warehouses and associated data feeds

•Ensure data can be provided to support various reporting requirements

•Recommend changes to existing databases to improve efficiency and usability

•Assist in client support and setup configurations

•Backup procedures

•Assist in data management processes

Education/Certifications:

•Bachelor’s in information technology or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible experience as a database administrator.

Desired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Experience with MS SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012, including use of Query Analyzer, stored procedures, DTS, Jobs and Profiler
•Experience creating and maintaining an extraction, transformation, and loading process from source systems or files into a data warehouse
•Ability to extract data from a data warehouse and package according to user needs
•Familiarity with managing data in Microsoft Access and Excel
•Understanding of XML helpful
•Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
•Ability to work independently or within a team as needed.
•Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
•Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
•Strong communication skills required
