The RD leads and manages a research and technology development program that supports the SIGINT, Information Assurance, and Cyber missions of the Maryland customer. The Research Directorate’s primary functions include the planning and conduct of research and advanced development activities for technology solutions responsive to the needs of the mission. Qualified candidate shall be able to:
Provide discipline-specific or system-specific engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes.
Possess technical and theoretical knowledge in specific discipline.
Work independently or on a team to solve engineering problems.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a project that develops complex software functionality and execute a complete software life cycle (requirements, design, test, validate, and deploy).
• Within the last seven (3) years, a minimum of five (3) years’ experience developing software/systems with Java.
• Within the last seven (3) years, a minimum of one (3) years’ experience designing and developing applications for execution in distributed computing environments

Ability to lead a team of Developers.
Work capture efforts related to Cloud technologies and address customer needs.
Lead/work internal research and development projects
Experience with managing, monitoring & tuning Hadoop clusters of 1,200 nodes highly desired.
Experience with developing and building Linux RPM’s and working with Yum Repositories.
Demonstrated experience utilizing Puppet to provision software loads for compute cluster.
Required Skills:
Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience developing software and systems with Java.
