Job description:
Production Capability Leader's primary responsibility is to ensure the Kiln/Recaust operations are optimized to achieve the Business Unit needs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fully support the mill safety, environmental, and corporate initiatives
Lead and support the Kiln/Recaust Manufacturing Excellence initiatives in the Recovery boiler, Lime Kiln and Recausticizing areas.
Ensure the Business Unit, Operations, and Supply Chain are fully coordinated
Convert the Business Plan to a daily operations plan
Provide technical expertise in the daily operations of the business unit including assisting Operators in resolving gaps between production and the plan
Mentor and coach operator in concert with shift team leaders in troubleshooting, documentation, and work request quality
Define and implement operator training as needed
Analyze and allocate production losses
Work with the Process Availability Leader as needed to help interpret the Asset Availability data
Work with the Operations Maintenance Gatekeeper to prioritize maintenance work and support maintenance execution of the work
Demonstrates Commitment Model leadership
Possess ambulatory capabilities to move around the mill, climb ladders, and catwalks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in pulp & paper science, chemical/mechanical engineering or a related field
Proven leadership with a minimum of 7 years of related paper, operational, or manufacturing/industrial experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills; competency with standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, and Mill information systems
In-depth knowledge of plant operations, maintenance spending process, production commitments, costs, capital projects, process equipment, and new technology
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Strong analytical problem solving skills; a solid background in statistical analysis is a plus
Ability to inspire and guide others toward identifying and achieving vision and goals
Ability to give encouragement, guidance, and direction to improve performance
Ability to listen generously and practice open advocacy; ability to provide people the information to perform their assigned roles through verbal communication
Ability to understand how perceptions of behaviors influence interactions with others
