Global Benefits Manager - Jericho
Location: Bristol, Connecticut
Our client is currently seeking a talented and highly energized individual that will contribute to the design, implementation and oversight of contemporary benefit programs and platforms to effectively attract motivate and reward our global workforce in support of our business transformation. This position provides a high degree of empowerment and responsibility for developing short and long term strategic, competitive, and cost effective health, welfare and retirement plans, domestic and international.
Responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, managing and communicating cost effective and competitive benefit programs to attract and retain employees on a global basis.
Ensure benefit programs are aligned with business and people strategies and objectives.
Partner with Director, Benefits to develop and deliver short-and long-term strategic recommendations to ensure global benefit programs are cost effective, competitive and flexible to meet the needs of a diverse workforce, while in compliance with all legal requirements.
Select, manage and leverage vendor relationships and platforms to ensure efficient, automated and cost effective administration of benefit programs. Monitors vendor performance in accordance with service level agreements.
Understand and participate in financial aspects of benefit programs including the development of rate setting, forecasting, and the impact to the P&L and balance sheet.
Advises and participates in national union negotiations related to benefit programs.
Assists in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions as needed, and leads benefit integration activities of acquisitions.
Coordinates with partnering consultants in the gathering and analysis of global benefits inventory and market data to effectively understand the competitiveness of our benefit programs.
Maintains oversight of global benefits inventory data for annual renewals and assessment and preparation of country/region specific presentations to Sr. leaders.
Oversight of Global wellness strategies for health improvement across the enterprise.
Coordinates annual strategic planning, implementations, communications, and financial forecasts.
Works closely with compensation and HR Technology team to ensure total rewards objectives are met.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree.
Advanced degree and CEBS, CPA, CMA or other professional certificates desired.
At least 5+ years as a Benefits Manager with responsibility for strategic planning, oversight and execution of compliant plans and programs (U.S.) and at least eight years progressive experience in employee benefits or equivalent training and/or experience.
Extensive experience in designing and implementing U.S. health and welfare, retirement programs (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Non-Qualified Plans) and retiree medical plans is required
Experience with global/international benefit plan design and administration, desired.
Experience assisting with union plan analysis and plan development for negotiation purposes, desired.
Advanced knowledge of employee benefit plans to include health and welfare, defined benefit, defined contribution and non-qualified plans
Strong understanding of federal and state laws governing employee benefit plans and insurance policies (ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, FASB, ADA, HIPAA, PPA, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting principles and working knowledge of general actuarial methodologies.
Analytical/Mathematical skills to understand and evaluate technical reports
Strong technical competency to understand benefit infrastructure and the supporting systems required for enrollment, payroll, carrier interfaces and applicable data transfers.
