Location Farwell Texas (Near Lubbock)

Company is seeking an experienced multi-location grain elevator manager to run the main location, consisting of a 5.4 million bushel shuttle loading/unloading and truck facility. It also has an extensive roller mill and a 24/7 steam flaking operation.

Responsibilities will include maintaining grain inventory levels through monitoring condition, loading, unloading and proper binning of grain into storage or load-out. The Location Manager will also oversee the daily operation of the facilities to include maintenance, safety and movement of grain to meet contract specifications as well as all train load-out of grain to meet grade and time constraints. Other duties will include training and supervising 17 employees through scheduling, providing direction and assisting in the completion of various tasks.

The successful individual will write various safety, maintenance & activity reports. Attending company meetings and training seminars will be other required tasks.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required along with five years minimum experience with grain operations management. Familiarity with shuttle trains is necessary and an understanding of grain blending, conditioning and drying is also required for success. The qualified individual will have experience with steam flaking mills and roller or hammer mills. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel and good verbal and written communication skills are also necessary. Applicants must have, or be able to get, a Texas Department of Agriculture Noncommercial Pesticide Applicator License for Category 1E (Farm Storage Pest Control and Fumigation).

This is a working, hands-on position and requires a tremendous emphasis on safety. The Location Manager will have knowledge of OSHA compliance and will hold weekly toolbox meetings with the staff. Knowledge of grain trading principles and practices is helpful, as is knowledge of grain industry regulations and guidelines.
