Job Title: Material Handler - entry level Batch Maker
Pay Rate: $12.50/hr
Hours: Flexible Overtime as Needed, some Saturdays
Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift
Hours will be from 3PM-11PM
Summary Description:
The purpose and function of this job is to make inks and coatings as required.
Ink Operator will be performing ink blending.
Candidates to be considered will individuals will have worked in a manufacturing setting-does not have to be a batch maker.
Working with chemicals in the past would be a big plus, as would be some forklift experience, though not required.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for:
• Start centrifuge that separates water from powder
• Handle all aspects of batch making of powder colors, open water valve to flush through sieve and filter bag into centrifuge.
• Pour ink powder into mixing drums with extender and other chemicals to provide specifics orders for clients.
• Screws covers on drum and straps drum to machine rack
• Inserts filter bag and sieve in centrifuge drum
• Operating the plant equipment and mixers.
• Operating any other equipment assigned by management.
• Maintaining accurate log and records of additions.
• Assisting Group Leader/ Production Manager with inventory control.
• Assisting with the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Assisting with monthly safety inspections.
• Using and proper storage of PPE equipment.
• Housekeeping and other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED. Some college or technical training preferred.
• Read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide proficiently.
• Ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
• Physical ability to lift 55-pound bags and move 55-gallon drums.
• Operate a forklift safely.
• Must be able to wear a full face respirator.
• Experience working in a manufacturing setting is required-does not have to be a batch maker position to be considered. Someone with experience handling chemicals is a huge plus.
Candidates must pass a math test.
It involves some simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
