SUMMARY:
Management Business Solutions is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our client in south west Michigan. Ideally this person would be located in either Benton Harbor or Portage, MI. This person will be responsible for engineering work related to Construction Project Management and/or design for various municipal infrastructures, other capital improvement projects, and plan reviews for government and private projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Ability to understand the scope of work and implement processes to complete the project.
•Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project
•Understand the design and construction engineering for Roadway/Civil projects, ranging from local and private to MDOT highway.
•Assist with preparation of proposals.
•Ability to work with client, municipalities and agencies as directed
•Managing a staff of junior engineers and mentor them as needed.
•Review project Survey Data and communicate that to clients
•Attend project team meetings and set weekly goals
•Judging whether projects are workable by assessing materials, costs and time requirements and monitor budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:•Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in Michigan
•B. S. in Civil/Structural Engineering
•Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in MDOT and Local Road/Highway design and construction.
•Experience with wastewater and municipal water preferred
•Strong organization, leadership. and communication skills for client coordination and development
•Project management skills are a must.
•Experience in engineering software including: Microstation, GEOPAC and Civil 3D
•Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc
