QUALITY ENGINEERS-HARD METAL ENVIRONMENT
Starting salary range of: $60-70K DOE.

Major Function:
Responsible for coordinating internal scrap reduction projects. Responsible for maintaining customer contact and obtaining engineering changes that are quality related.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and submit to customer engineering change requests for quality improvements.
2. Follow up with customer those requests and supplies data required to obtain approval.
3. Participate in Quality meetings for corrective/preventive actions, provide input for problem solving and coordinates scrap reduction efforts.
4. Works with Production, Tooling and Engineering to find solutions for scrap reductions.
5. Proposes quality system changes that will facilitate the identification and resolution of scrap related issues.
6. Propose future department investments for continuous improvement.
7. Maintain adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Management Responsibilities:
This position does not include any direct reports or other management responsibilities.
Personal Characteristics:
1. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
2. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
3. Good ability for planning, organizing and controlling activities.
Minimum requirements (experience, background, education):
1. Two (2) year degree in mechanical, or industrial engineering, plus at least one (1) year of foundry experience.
2. Experience is to include problem solving and corrective action implementation.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Word processing and spreadsheet software.
5. Knowledge of data collection and elaboration techniques (pareto, pie charts, etc.).
6. Working in a hard metals environment. (Forging, Die Cast, Foundry) works best.
Organizational Relationships (if needed):
1. Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
2. Advises, consults and coordinates with all other quality assurance and company salaried staff.
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident. No VISA sponsorship for these positions.
