FULL-Time Position
Location: Boston
Pay: Up to 120+K

Responsibilities
• Provide ongoing administration and support for Linux (CentOS) systems
• Act as an escalation point for the 2nd-level technical group for support issues
• Provide seasoned experience to solving production, QA and development issues in a timely manner, as well as anticipating potential issues before they occur
• Work closely with the Director of IT and technical team leads to meet deliverable deadlines and production milestones
• Assist in troubleshooting LAN, VPN and Internet connectivity issues
• Assist in coordinating and facilitating the design, architecture, security, integration, and installation of products and services
• Prepare and maintain documentation of system configurations
Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years experience setting up and maintaining Linux servers (CentOS, RedHat) and applications (Apache, MySQL, PHP)
• 5+ years experience with networking and security configuration and tools, including load-balancing, firewalling and switches and network segmentation
• Strong *nix scripting experience of some kind (bash, perl, Python, PHP)
• Strong familiarity with the installation and configuration of MySQL, PHP, Apache, Nginx and VMWare vSphere (or other virtualization technologies such as Xen)
• Strong experience with hardware maintenance, replacements and upgrades
• Effectively work and operate within a team-based environment with a can-do attitude
• Able to lift and install at least 50 lbs. of computer hardware
• Available on-call 24/7 during escalation incidents
Desired Qualifications
• A 4-year college degree
• A well organized self-starter who delivers assigned work on schedule while managing multiple tasks under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• LAN, VPN and Internet optimization, troubleshooting and maintenance experience, including router and firewall configurations
• Experience with source code management systems, ideally git
• Security and backups installations and audits
• Significant experience setting up and maintaining the following: MySQL, OpenLDAP, Nginx, Nagios, Jira, Cassandra, Apache Solr, Fabric, Puppet, Xen, OpenStack
• Strong experience with Juniper routers, load balancers and best practices for VLAN configurations
• Amazon AWS experience, including EC2, S3/Glacier, Route53, and VPC
• Experience supporting and working within both a Windows and Apple OS X environment
