STARS Mid-level Systems or Simulation Engineer

• Support a new effort to develop a performance evaluation simulation capability to support MDA SN.
• This position requires experience with the development, operation, and use of engineering models and simulations.
• The right candidate will assist the SN Project Office, the STARS Lab and cadets from the United States Military Academy develop a model to describe operational steps the AN/TPY-2 radar goes through during a standard mission.
• Candidate will be able to work to define and record these operational steps in the context of a multi-dimensional team discerning information from the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s documentation and engineers, government engineers, operators and analysts.
• Will use STARS specific engineering process and procedures, will verify the completeness of the design and identify any additional operation steps that would be impacted through the integration, test, evaluation, and verification of the simulations.
Qualifications:
• Experience in one or all of systems engineering disciplines including, requirements, design, test, evaluation, verification and operations of various models and simulations.
• Additional knowledge and/or experience with software development methodologies with Object Oriented languages such as C++.
• Good communications and people skills is an absolute must.
• Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel.
Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge of major radar software systems such as AN/TPY-2.
• Knowledge of modern simulation languages such as UML and SysML and their development tools is very important
• Experience with Matlab and Matlab Simulink is desired.
• Experience with Ada or Ada95 programming language would be helpful.
• A minimum of five years’ experience is preferable.
Education Requirement:
• Candidate must minimally possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences with emphasis on software development or relevant engineering or physical sciences and 5+ years overall experience.
Security Clearance:
• Candidate must hold a Secret Clearance with the ability to achieve a Top Secret Clearance if necessary.
