SUMMARY:
The contract Supply Chain Commodity Specialist will identify supplier quality, delivery, and service issues; monitor supplier corrective action and coordinate supplier development; and identify and eliminate waste from the supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze supplier performance, using company systems (i.e., Advanced Manufacturing Accounting Production System [AMAPS], Baan, Enterprise Maintenance Planning and Control [EMPAC], Oracle, Quality Information System [QIS], or Non-Conforming Material [NCM]), to identify supplier issues, initiate corrective action, and track performance
Manage supplier base and supply chain to assure lead time, quality, and on-time complete delivery meet company objectives
May lead Supplier Quality Task Teams (SQTT). Uses SQTT process to drive supplier development
Work closely with Material Planners, end-users, and supplier to reduce lead-time and inventory investment. Use various Just In Time (JIT) techniques, including Kanban and consigned inventories
Participate in project teams, representing Purchasing function to provide input from supply chain process
Utilize spreadsheet analysis software, via personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse, to evaluate technical and financial data
Exercise most effective use of company funds in acquisition of assigned commodities and equipment, in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Travels, including overnight, away from corporate offices, visiting suppliers and potential suppliers. May utilize personal motor vehicle
Lifts/moves material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, logistics management, or a related field required
2 years of related business experience beneficial but not required
