Title:Systems Verification Engineer

Summary of position:
Work as a member of a large multi-functional team in the development of system tests for Puritan-Bennett's line of Respiratory Care Products.
Essential functions:
1.Develop and execute test protocols to conduct formal system verification.
2.Participates in requirements development, systems level document reviews. Provides feedback to improve system verification process and document quality.
3.Design and development of test systems required for verification.
4.Implements system verification in accordance with defined development procedures.
5.Provides technical leadership to sub-project teams - Takes a leadership role in design reviews as they pertain to system verification.
6.Directs and Mentors testers and provides technical guidance as necessary.
7.Works with management and development teams to establish best practices.
8.Adheres to defined development procedures.
9.Generates high-quality work products.
10.Functions well in a team environment.
11.Demonstrates good design practices.
Department specific/non-essential functions:
1.Work with and provide technical leadership to other test engineers and lab technicians.
2.Ensure adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and quality and regulatory procedures and requirements.
3.Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:BSEE, BSME, BSCS or equivalent.
Experience:1 - 5 years of experience with system verification.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Knowledge of automated test systems..
Candidate should be knowledgeable and have a demonstrated experience in system validation processes and multiple product life cycles.
Skills/Competencies:Strong knowledge and experience with system verifications processes.
Experience in verification of embedded, real-time applications required. Experience in hardware/software interfacing and design issues required. Superior written and verbal communication skills required.
Other Skills:Requirement tracing tools such as DOORS or Requisite Pro
Organizational relationships/scope:
Reports to the Systems Engineering Manager for functional leadership. Accountable to a Principal Systems Engineer(s) or Project Manager(s) for project-related responsibilities.
Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines, particularly hardware and software engineers. Possible interaction with clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors and other users.
Working conditions:
Performs work in engineering development labs, model shops and normal office environments.
