DESCRIPTION:
• Applying a professional knowledge of occupational nursing concepts, principles, and practices to independently perform nursing assignments such as an Occupational Health Nurse determining fitness for duty and making medical qualification determinations.
• Reviewing pre-employment medical examinations and providing advice to management officials, supervisors and co-workers on pre-employment medical qualification decisions;
• Preparing case specific written requests to applicants and their physicians using agency guidelines and medical standards;
• Discussing case issues with applicants or their physicians;
• Providing attention to detail and strong organizational skills to process complex medical case files;
• Providing extensive review of medical records for pre-employment purposes;
• Experience implementing job specific medical standards in a pre-employment setting;
• Knowledge of a wide range of occupational health nursing concepts and medical conditions; and
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
• RN license in any jurisdiction
• Prefer candidates with Certification in Case Management (CCM), Certified Rehab Nurse (CRN), or Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or candidates willing to obtain such certification
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must successfully pass a Federal background investigation
