The Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for developing relationships with major home center retail partners, increasing in-store presence of company brands though the assessment of local market opportunities, developing sales/marketing plans, and supervising the work of Merchandisers & Counselors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The SM is responsible for managing and growing assigned territory.
Territory will be made up of Big Box retailers: Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart.
These are established national accounts.
The SM is responsible for developing relationships with key decision makers at the retail level, including the Store and Garden department managers.
Through those relationships, the SM is responsible for growing the business.
Also responsible for recruiting, hiring, training a team of seasonal merchandisers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Haves:
3-5 years Sales/Account Management experience
6 months prior supervisory experience; or leadership experience
Must have valid drivers licence
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
Must NOT be a user of tobacco products
Nice-to-Haves:
Bachelors Degree
experience calling in (selling into) big box retailers
Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods
Merchandising experience
