Job Description:
MNS Engineers is looking for an organized, efficient, and skilled Construction Administrative Assistant to join our Construction Management team. The Construction Administrative Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of his or her assigned project, including ongoing communication with public agencies, contractors, and the general public. Function:
The Construction Administrative Assistant provides administrative and coordination support for Construction Management projects and staff, demonstrating familiarity with Project Management, Civil Engineering, and construction/industry practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
GENERAL
* Maintains files of project/program records and documentation.
* Reviews inspector's daily reports for quantities, contractor's progress and as-constructed data.
* Reviews schedules and facilitates resolution in problem situations.
* Prepares/reviews monthly construction estimates.
* Assists project administration in monitoring internal project controls.
* Monitors project schedules.
* Assists in issue resolution.
* Helps in claims documentation.
* Assists with preparing CCO’s and correspondence.
* Responsible for maintaining project log sheets and project files.
* Assists in coordinating with utilities, contractor, agencies, the public
* Acts as project/program manager as needed.
* Conducts periodic construction inspection.
* Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
* Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or a closely related field. An additional 5 years of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
* Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Up to 1 year of specialized/technical training in building codes, mathematics and/or engineering technology with a B.S. degree in Construction Management or similar, OR
* 5 + years of previous construction or civil engineering experience in administration of construction projects, including significant interaction with public agencies, contractors, utilities and the general public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the successful performance of the essential elements of the job such as those listed above.
