Description As a member of Atlanta Financial Controller’s Group, the individual will work with other members of the controller’s team for a large commingled real estate fund. Responsibilities will focus on accounting and reporting for individual assets and the portfolio utilizing Oracle and other systems, and Microsoft Office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monthly close of properties
Review of monthly property management package
Variance analysis
Cash reconciliations
Assist in the monthly portfolio close process
Review budgets and asset management plans annually
Review quarterly reforecasts
Assist in quarterly reporting
Perform financial due diligence on acquisitions and dispositions
Work directly with asset managers and property managers on a group of assets
Participate in ad hoc analyses for portfolio management
Assist with preparation of responses to external requests, including to clients, consultants and rating agencies
Skills Required BA/BS required, CPA or CPA candidate preferred; Big 4 experience strongly preferred Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in public or private accounting required
Familiarity with commercial real estate and market value accounting is preferred
Strong accounting and analytical skills are required
PC proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, is required; Oracle experience is a plus
Successful candidate will have strong communication skills given the need to communicate effectively in oral and written form with colleagues, supervisors, portfolio management, asset management and property managers
Ability to work within a team and under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
