Our client has a need for a Tax Accountant in their Smyrna office. The ideal candidate will have an Accounting Degree, be a CPA and have a Master's in Taxation. You must have at least 2 years of public accounting experience, Big 4 is preferred.
Description
The Tax Accountant will perform all functions (compliance, planning, examination defense, reporting and administration) related to certain US legal entities. The position will support the existing US tax manager on projects as they arise.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of data requirements for outsourced activities including filings for Federal and state corporate income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, pharma and insurance excise tax returns, information returns, property tax returns and other miscellaneous returns.
Provide data and input to support the documentation to support transfer pricing methodologies and research and development credit.
Participate in planning to manage the effective tax rate and structure business transactions to minimize tax liabilities within commercial parameters.
Prepare half year and year end provisions for consolidation into global financial statements issued under IFRS. Interact with external auditors to support the reporting.
Support the company’s tax positions upon examination by Federal and State tax authorities. Respond to inquiries by tax authorities.
Support business units and global tax team on commercial and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 2 years of tax experience in public accounting and or industry
Knowledge of US corporate income tax, computer skills, familiarity with accounting records and systems, written and oral communication skills
Ability to identify and evaluate all alternatives, seek input from others and execute on course of action.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and deliver results.
