We have an immediate need for a Tax Senior Associate in our client's Charlotte office. The job description is as follows:
The Senior Tax Associate works closely with staff on all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients. The Senior Tax Associate is primarily responsible for reviewing complex partnership, S corporate, C corporate, and trust tax returns; developing and supervising staff, and recruitment.
The primary responsibilities of Senior Associates are focused in the following 8 areas:
Tax Compliance
Tax Consulting
Project/Task Management
Engagement Lead/Management
New Business Development
Recruitment
Staff Management and Development
Personal and Professional Development
Specific Duties
Tax Compliance
Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance.
Review tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Tax Consulting
Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance.
Draft tax technical memorandums.
Perform tax structuring and modeling.
Project/Task Management
Accept responsibility for, and complete tasks assigned by management in a timely fashion.
Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project.
Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
Alert management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s).
Required Skills
Education: BS/BA accounting preferred; CPA a plus
3-5 years tax experience in a public accounting or real estate firm preferred
Demonstrated writing skills a must; proposal development experience desired
Strong tax research and writing skills
Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
