Principal responsibilities include designing, developing, and managing
projects ranging from small scale to high visibility capital projects in
order to improve facilities, products, and processes. Provide engineering
services required to prepare and submit capital requests including project
scopes, schedules, estimates, and financial justification. Selects,
coordinates, and supervises on-site personnel and outside contractors for
project completion. Provide technical guidance in areas of expertise to
support current plant operations.
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of a 4 year Bachelors Degree in
Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of experience in an intense production,
engineering or plant maintenance environment.
Candidates with an Associate Degree will be considered with extended relevant experience.
Must have experience with system and process equipment design, layout of equipment in a facility, component and equipment specifications, installation of equipment, mechanical engineering skills.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is also
desired. Also the normal excellent computer skills with spreadsheets
and document presentation experience. Must have organizational skills with
attention to detail.
A big plus as you know would be excellent problem identification and problem solving skills. Also having the ability to function among multi-discipline team members and be accountable for actions and results.
Two plus years experience out of the heavy manufacturing industries.
Handle projects from cradle to grave.
In charge of new piece equipment installed to area, revising the area, analysis for reliability outrun, see if there is a better way to build to extend the life on the parts.
This is a very hands on mechanical project engineering opportunity.
Must be self motivated and have a true team player mentality.
Able to communicate well because of dealing with maintenance department and production department.
Oversee 3-8 projects at a time, sometimes doing revisions on parts for four hours and sometimes as long as 6 months.
Working hours average 45- hours a week.
Additional during shutdown times. Every other weekend and July 4-6 days and December 9 days and Thanksgiving is shutdown 3 days.
