Duties include leading and facilitating the design, development, and maintenance of the application roadmap. Also expected to apply their experience in advancing the technical landscape of the application through the use of new features and new development paradigms supported by OpenEdge. Project management experience is a plus as the individual can be assigned to lead small projects, or small sub projects, which can be part of a larger project/program.

Participate in technical roadmap discussions. Participate in discussions to recommend application and development tool enhancements that result in increased efficiency, quality, maintainability and scalability.
Tests programs and documents results
May consult on medium to large-scale projects leading Software Engineers
Provides production support, including on-call support as required
Participates in code reviews
Manages help desk tickets for support and enhancement requests
Investigates, troubleshoots and corrects data and user related system errors
Uses version control tools and Production Control for job migrations and scheduling
Participate in DR exercises, server refreshes and software upgrade
Collaborate with team members in a distributed environment with different time zones.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 yearsexperience in structured analysis and design
5 or more years of programming and/or software development experience
Experience in Progress development language and database required
Experience in one of the following programming languages preferred: Java, C/C++, Perl, XML
Knowledge of all, or some of the following software packages/utilities will be a plus: file transfer mechanisms (sftp, http, ssl, etc), MQ-Series, MS Office, Visio, Crystal Reports
Experience in Unix or AIX environment is required.
Minimum 2 years production support experience
Experience in development of application technical roadmap a plus
Experience in design and development in the OO framework preferred
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including management, executives, co-workers, customers and outside business associates
