Our Plymouth, MI customer is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer (OEM Chassis, Vehicle & Performance Development) for a direct hire at an open salary. Sponsorship is NOT AVAILABLE. Will NOT consider fresh-out graduates, entry-level or candidates with less than 3 years' experience.
Duties:
• Coordinating technical capacity building and development planning
• Responsible for the chassis architecture, technical direction, and products planning & development
• Lead company chassis platform and platform planning
• Lead chassis performance integration (handling, ride, steering, braking performance, four-wheel drive performance)
• Responsible for the DNA of company chassis performance development
• Understand and translate the marketing input, company strategy into Vehicle Dynamics Engineering specifications and requirements; making associated technical plans
• Support company chassis development capacity building, technological capacity building, and trouble shooting
Requirements:
o Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or higher is required
o 20+ years’ working in vehicle development, chassis AND performance development in working experience in OEMS like Ford, GM and Chrysler.
o Possess vehicle dynamics theory and knowledge of automotive design and manufacturing
o Possess the ability of comprehensive subjective evaluation of vehicle performance
o Good project management and leadership skills
o Strong communication skills; verbal and written expressions
o Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills
o Multinational experience is preferred
o OEM experience is required; Asian OEM experience is highly preferred
o Chinese bilingual is preferred, but not required
o Must be able to travel to China 2-4x per year
