IMMEDIATE Contract position for a Desktop Support Technician in San Francisco, CA!
Description:
As an IT Technician, you will maintain equipment inventory, install software, troubleshoot problems for end users, configure equipment and software, and lend a helping hand to the system administrators. You will be our internal IT 'go-to' for our new hire on-boarding, as well. You will answer questions like "How do I change my password on this program" or "Why is my computer not printing".
This position requires a diverse skill set, as your responsibilities will go wherever our staff needs to take you. Besides providing support and on-boarding, there are exciting projects waiting for you in a growing company where you can expand your knowledge and skills. Above all, you will make sure our company's software and hardware are running smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Help desk and desktop support
• On board new hires from creating their accounts to handing over the equipment
• Track hardware/software inventory
• Manage and maintain VOIP phone system and office equipment
• Coordinate with external vendors to get equipment serviced Install and repair hardware/software on desktops and laptops
• Configure hardware and software
• Provide support and assistance to System Administration
Requirements:
• BS Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field
• 2+ years’ experience providing IT troubleshooting support
• Self-starter, able to jump in and operate with minimal guidance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a financial setting or with a company managing sensitive data
• Knowledge of Windows 7/8 and Mac OS X
• Basic knowledge in server computing networking, phone setup/support, and business applications
• Help implement policies and procedures around security
• Audit that all laptops that have encryption and other various settings activated
