Payment Entry Specialist- Escondido (North San Diego County)

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Payment Entry Specialist in our Escondido office. The role of a Payment Entry Specialist in the Revenue Cycle Management department is to post all insurance explanation of benefits (EOB’s) and patient payments. This position also does research and balancing of batches posted by others.
Essential Functions:
• Posting explanation of benefits received via paper EOBs or ERA files
• Working non-pay remittance
• Communicate areas of payment concern to Management
• Participate in monthly close-out processes
• Auditing and balancing of batches posted by others
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality in accordance with all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Stay abreast of code changes, updates to reimbursement guidelines, and coverage policies
• Other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:.
• Working knowledge of healthcare code sets
• Working knowledge of the adjudication process; payment reduction and bundling policies, coverage guidelines
• Basic understanding of provider contracts and credentialing
• Understanding of basic accounting functions
• Understanding of the complete healthcare revenue cycle
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Mysis Vision experience preferred.
