150374 Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer
Our customer located in Plymouth, MI is seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer on a direct hire basis.
The salary range for this position is $70,000/year to $100,000/year, dependent upon experience level.
Sponsorship is NOT AVAILABLE.
Will NOT consider fresh-out graduates, entry-level, or candidates with less than 3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
• Perform accurate subjective evaluations of vehicle ride, handling, steering, stability, and acceleration / deccelaration performance characteristics.
• Determine up-to-date best practices for evaluation, target-setting and tuning of vehicle dynamic attributes.
• Collect, analyze, and report vehicle attribute subjective and objective test data for benchmark, target-setting, and status reporting.
• Construct and maintain detailed, program-specific project schedule/timeline of tasks to develop vehicle dynamic attributes.
• Specify component characteristics to comprise tuning library; perform physical tuning of chassis to program targets; maintain record of test configurations, results, and next steps.
• Collaborate with team members from other functional departments to insure all project targets have been met with sufficient documentation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
• 5+ years of OEM vehicle dynamics work experience in the automotive field.
• In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics theory; expertise in vehicle, system and component test methods, data acquisition, post-processing, and reporting of vehicle dynamic attributes.
• Working knowledge of chassis systems suspension, steering, and braking.
• Working knowledge of analysis tools (MATLAB), data analysis, and signal processing instrumentation.
• Hold prior authorization to conduct vehicle dynamic tests on OEM proving grounds.
• High level of analytical problem solving skills, in which problems are difficult or complex.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to organize and present technical, fact-based information which is clear and effective to inform and influence others.
• Strong experience using the MS Office Professional package for documentation and presentations.
• Highly motivated individual with initiative to seek solutions to difficult situations and collaborates well with others maintains positive outlook.
• Able to undertake short-term domestic and international travel 20% annually.
