Byrnes & Rupkey, Inc. has an opportunity for a Paint Systems Engineering Manager in the beautiful lakes area of northwestern Iowa. This position is a direct hire for a successful and innovative manufacturing company.
Responsibilities:
• Leading the technical staff for the automated paint system including senior engineers, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, robot programmers, etc.;
• Planning and coordinating business unit activities to accomplish corporate objectives;
• Developing methods of improvements in current production practices;
• Reviewing and recommending changes to the master production schedule to best enhance productivity;
• Coordinating studies and projects for improvements in processes, equipment, and cost reductions using Lean tools and techniques;
• Maintaining compliance with government regulations, company policies and safety standards;
• Working with the facilities team to ensure paint system equipment achieves production readiness goals.
Education: 4-year degree required; Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines preferred.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of technical management in a large liquid paint system environment;
• 5+ years of experience working in a robotically applied liquid paint system;
• Proficient with the use of robotics, automation, conveyors, and liquid paint from the systems side;
• Familiar with the technical changes needed for volume and color changes in multiple lines throughout the day;
• Strong knowledge and experience working with manufacturing systems, processes and operations;
• Prior experience working with manufacturing environmental issues.
