Accounting Admin
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Pay Rate: $20-$24/hr depending upon experience
Hours: Mon-Fri (8:00AM-5:00PM)
Length of Assignment: 2-3 months
Job Description:
• Seeking administrative support for accounting duties
• Knowledge of basic accounting skills is required.
• Primary responsibility is to provide support to the Finance Manager with the management of all department accounts, e.g, operations, gift, and sponsored research
Specific duties include:
• Set up files for new accounts;
• Update department list of financial accounts;
• Track expenses and reconcile monthly expenditure and fund statements;
• Advice manager of any issues that come up during the reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies as needed;
• Update and/or prepare account spreadsheets to support account(s) analysis;
• Generate reports using Reportmart, Great Plains, and Oracle.
• In addition may provide support for ongoing seminars, workshops, and meetings;
• Draft and distribute information to promote attendance at academic programs and collect and edit written materials about the Institute's work.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of job related experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Extreme attention to detail; excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills;
• knowledge of basic accounting skills; strong command of MS Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of administrative systems including Reportmart3.
• Familiarity with sponsored research is strongly desired.
