Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: San Jose, CA
Shift/ Hours/Pay: Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM $11/hr OR Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM $12.38/hr
Work days alternate between 3 and 4 days a week (ie. Sun Tues and every other Wed)
All shifts require associates to work at least 1 weekend day
JOB DESCRIPTION
Machine Operators oversee the manufacturing of semiconductor devices, which are commonly known as integrated circuits or microchips. These microchips are found in all electronic devices including cell phones, cars, and laptops.
Microchips must be kept completely clean and free of impurities because the circuitry is so small that a particle of dust can damage it. To ensure this, semiconductor processors work in clean rooms that are kept free of contamination. They wear special garments, called bunny suits, over their clothes to prevent lint or other particles from contaminating the clean room.
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring machines and equipment that abrades, cleaves, etches, heat treats, saws, tests and processes materials to manufacture semi-conductor wafers in a cleanroom environment.
EXPERIENCE
• 1+ years’ experience as a Semiconductor Processor OR
• Experience working in a "clean room" environment with full protective gear
• High attention to detail to work with precision equipment
• Proficient problem solving skills to increase output and fix errors
• Ability to work long hours doing repetitive movements
