Leading manufacturer and worldwide distributor has an immediate need for an experienced Purchasing Engineer.
The person selected must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate past exposure in supply chain development and evaluation, price and delivery negotiations, cost reduction, value analysis, proficiency with purchasing information systems, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical personnel as a member of R&D and Manufacturing teams. Previous experience in some of the following is desired: procuring and/or specifying capital equipment, castings, stampings, machined components, finishing processes, and/or tooling. This candidate will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing.
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial. MBA preferred.
2. 7+ years' experience in purchasing in a manufacturing setting.
3. Experience with valves, metals, piping, or similar.
