The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader has the primary responsibility of executing high quality maintenance and irrigation services through excellent customer service by managing a crew of team members that are assigned a specific client base in accordance with contract specifications and within given budgeted parameters. This individual will directly manage typically 1-3 Crew Members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Relations
* Promptly responds to all client inquiries and calls and/or communicates request to
Operations Manager for direction.
* Ensures that the contracted scope of work is being fulfilled within given budget and agreed timeframe
* Works to resolve job site issues with the Operations Manager's direction in a timely and mutually agreeable manner - within 24 hours or no later than the end of the week, depending on the complexity of the situation.
* Communicates/reports any needed job schedule changes to the Operations Manager.
* Responsible for a 90 % or higher annual base contract renewal rate for assigned client base.
* Actively participates in company marketing, employee recruiting to provide new work and a pipeline of skilled employees to the company.
Personnel Management & Communication
* Reviews job scope, contract, budgeted hours and materials with crew members when job is assigned.
* Reviews job status weekly (minimum) with crew members.
* Ensures that all crew members are aware of job expectations and are proficient in their job skills using proper industry and horticultural practices to complete the scope of the job and satisfy their assigned job expectations.
* Holds all crew members accountable to meeting job performance expectations through individual coaching, formal and informal job performance reviews.
* Assists with recruiting, selection and hiring new crew members as necessary
* Conducts wage reviews for assigned crew members using Green Earth's wage guidelines
* Actively trains team members to be proficient in their jobs, and that they are adequately skilled to perform their assigned scope of work in a safe manner.
Personnel Management & Communication (continued):
* Ensures that crew members are aware of and are in attendance at any scheduled team or company meeting as deemed necessary by Ownership.
* Completes and returns employee status change forms within 24 hours of a change for assigned crew members. Reviews and reports through written documentation any unsatisfactory performance or
infractions of Company policies and/or procedures for crew members Communicates immediately and turns in written report to Operations Manager within 24 hours of any infraction.
* Assists with termination of crew members when necessary with approval from Operations Manager.
* Responsible for a 90% or higher per year employee retention rate for their assigned team.
Job Site Scheduling, Management and Cost Containment
* Plans, delegates and executes all activities associated with given maintenance accounts, including irrigation systems.
* Manage and meets team job hours and direct job costs. Makes immediate corrections for deficiencies.
* Ensures jobsites and company yard/building facilities remain neat and orderly with equipment and materials discarded or/or stored properly at all times.
* Ensures all crew members are completing A.M. and P.M. checklists to 95% or greater consistency
* Communicates job work orders to crew daily.
* Ensures all tracking documents are completed accurately, turned in timely and reviewed prior to submission to the company for accounting purposes.
* Completes and ensures payroll records are turned in accurately and daily at a designated time
* Ensures that inventory for tools, equipment and materials are tracked and accurate
* Requests utility markings when needed and as required by law.
